No place for a hairy face



Caroline and Tom met in June of 2019 as members of their friends’ wedding party (hat tip to Kata and Joe).

Caroline, a bridesmaid, had caught the eye of Tom, a groomsman, while walking down the aisle at the church rehearsal. Tom made a few inquiries with fellow members of the wedding party to find out if she was single, and after getting the all-clear, he decided to make a move and introduced himself later that evening at McGarvey's Bar in downtown Annapolis. However, Caroline, after concluding she was not romantically interested-and that she was not a fan of his beard-said goodnight after a few minutes of conversation.

The next day at the wedding ceremony, Caroline noticed a handsome groomsman she didn’t recognize, only to realize it was Tom; this time clean-shaven and spiffed up in a custom suit.

Later that evening, Tom approached her again at the reception, but this time, she was more open to his advances. As fate would have it, they were seated next to each other at dinner. A friend across the table noticed the sparks between them, and took a photo (see above) which to this day has served as photographic proof of their budding romance.

The next day, Tom asked Caroline out and they had their first date the following weekend.

And as the cliché goes, the rest is history...

...and Caroline has since become a fan of Tom's beard.
